About the artist
Tori-Lene Urgård is a Norwegian artist from Bodø who lives and works in Oslo. She studied art in St. Petersburg, and has since developed an interest for Russian artists such as Malevitch and Kandinskij

Urgård makes art based on the idea of only working with color. She deliberately simplify by limiting the colors to red, blue, yellow, black and white – which makes it more intuitive fit the colors into a bigger context. The straight angled triangles replace the motif and drawing. She works the triangles as puzzle until she creates a motif with a satisfying composition.
