About the artist
Nina Mendoza Knutsen (b. 2001) is an artist from Hamar who has been working with cyanotype since 2021. She draws inspiration from nature, and her motifs are often taken from hikes and experiences in the mountains. Through her work, she combines her love of the outdoors with a traditional analog technique.
Cyanotype is an old photographic process where images are developed using UV radiation and light-sensitive chemicals. The technique produces characteristic blue tones and a distinctive, organic expression. Nina uses photographs from her hikes and develops the images by hand.
